A Short Story
BufferBox was founded in 2011 by University of Waterloo, Mechatronics Engineering grads who absolutely hate missing deliveries. Always looking for better deals and variety, we'd always buy frivolous things like textbooks and robot parts online. But, we'd never be home because we were too busy going to class. There had to be a better way.
We wanted something that we could access anytime and something that would save us time. And that's exactly what we built. What started as a simple engineering project to build an electronic mailbox has evolved into a big idea and a big mission (it was true engineers dream - the prototype had a solar panel strapped to it!).
We launched a very successful pilot in our own backyard at the University of Waterloo and soon after began rolling out a network of pick-up stations across the Greater Toronto Area. Very soon, we hope to be in a city near you!
